Little Lamps

Early Years Program
Started in 2016, under the Little Lamps banner, with Playgroup, Nursery and Kindergarten, we commenced classes for Grade 1 and 2 in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
Our teachers are equipped with an understanding of the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical developments of the pre-primary age group, to instill positive attitudes and motivation, to teach strong basic learning skills, to introduce a wide variety of disciplines, to foster early social skills and to inspire in children the love of learning. The early years form the foundation for all future learning, hence the school’s mission to impart value education is an integral part of the early years program. As we move to the new and sprawling campus, the pre-primary program called ’Little Lamps’ will offer the following:
Playgroup and Nursery

During this exploratory phase in a child’s life, we will provide various materials to help them perform exploratory activities and eventually gain mastery over their skills. The activities are planned to help students develop large and small motor movements.
Songs, rhymes, story- telling, value education, art, craft and theme-based activities are all part of the program, with equal emphasis on the socio-emotional development of the child. The learning centers will allow for substantial peer interaction and self-work, thus enabling them to carve their path of learning.
The focus will be on enhancing creativity, curiosity, self-esteem, concentration and independence using child-centered and hands-on approaches. A healthy blend of classroom teaching and activities with Montessori materials will help students internalize concepts.
The child must fulfil the minimum age criteria laid down by the school as on 1st June of the session to which the admission to being sought.

Kindergarten Program

This is a two-pronged program designed to build literacy and numeracy skills that will lay the foundation for formal schooling. The Kindergarten program, like the Nursery program, has classroom sessions and also Montessori activity time when children will be able to experience the learning and internalize it. The Montessori Room exposes children to a quiet and orderly learning environment with related benefits of concentration and self-direction, while the classroom follows a slightly structured approach.
Our curriculum is designed to help children learn literacy and numeracy skills with equal emphasis on understanding the environment, arts, dramatics, public speaking, craft, dance and music. Emphasis on social and emotional development is continuous. Equal importance is given to physical activity and play time. The curriculum is designed to nurture development of cognitive skills.
Our interactions with students are aimed at developing empathy, creativity, critical thinking, observation and problem-solving skills. Developing confidence, self-esteem and independence are attributes we focus on equally along with educational content. Our thematic approach to learning ensures students learn about things around them and apply their knowledge appropriately. We strive to help our students become lifelong learners.
